Antiqued Peonies

I saw these gorgeous peonies at a consignment shop and loved them. They were a little too bright for me so I thought about bleaching them a bit to bring down the color but decided to try out some coffee staining. The look is fabulous and I am obsessed with the idea of coffee dying any faux flower I ever come across. There are 4 of these beauties for sale here in my Etsy shop...
I dipped the flower head in some instant coffee mix and water, dabbed onto a towel and then put on a cookie sheet in the oven for 10 minutes on 290 degrees. I watched them carefully to make sure nothing would melt at that temp and they turned out great!

Beautiful Angela! I coffee stain with instant coffee all the time. If anything gets too dark, just rinse in warm water. Your photos are gorgeous! I know you are ready for spring! xoxoxo
