Motherhood is an astounding job. The realization of Motherhood didn't hit me until a month or so after my son was born. I've heard a million women say you fall in love at first sight and I was shocked to have it not happen when my first was born. I was completely overwhelmed when I didn't think I would be. I had support of all of my family. But nothing to make the realization of motherhood kick in like days or night alone. Just a mother and her children. Trying to figure out the Best way to be a mom. I'm so grateful that my love for my son came, not the first time I held him but rather in the middle of madness. On 2 hours of sleep at a midnight feeding.
At night when these challenges are put on hold. When the children you have turn into silent sleeping angels, is when the realization of how wonderful it really is kicks in.
The other night as I did the "walk through" of the house after the kids fell asleep, I saw little vignettes around the house. Every room was filled with little girl stuff that just made me smile.
So I brought along my camera and captured the gorgeous doll houses and collection of ponies.
I just wish I would have been able to capture my joy of being a Mother.

I saw these gorgeous peonies at a consignment shop and loved them. They were a little too bright for me so I thought about bleaching them a bit to bring down the color but decided to try out some coffee staining. The look is fabulous and I am obsessed with the idea of coffee dying any faux flower I ever come across. There are 4 of these beauties for sale here in my Etsy shop...
I dipped the flower head in some instant coffee mix and water, dabbed onto a towel and then put on a cookie sheet in the oven for 10 minutes on 290 degrees. I watched them carefully to make sure nothing would melt at that temp and they turned out great!

For the month of Love I have made up some really gorgeous, romantic Trim Tag sets available in my Etsy shop. I think the best way to use these would be to display in a frame , But some of these stunning vintage rhinestone jewelry pieces will be perfect for whatever special project you have coming up. Adorning the front of a fabric photo album, pinning to your winter coat or hat.
Use for Jewelry making, altered arts, scrapbooking and some tags even come with a perfectly good pair of new or vintage earrings.
Instead of a Romantic feel, These next Trim Tag sets are strong and refreshing.
Green, the color of luscious growth. Which is what we are hoping for Haiti.
These tags can be purchased for a very special cause at HAITI BY HAND
Also for sale in the Haiti By Hand shop is
my One of a Kind Altered Guidance Tray.
This is the exact piece that was shipped to California to the Stampington offices, it was photographed and featured in Somerset's Holidays & Celebrations.
